He was known to make the sign of the cross before meals and hung an image of the Virgin Mary in his home. On his deathbed, he called for a friend and Catholic priest to come to him. The priest spent three hours alone with the President. Although his conversion was never confirmed for sure, we can only imagine that the President came into communion with the Church in his very last moments. All glory and thanks be to God!
